Art Students Excel in Contests

Pope John XXIII Central Catholic art students recently attended the ESU #8 High School Art Contest and Show at the  Antelope County Fair Grounds building in Neligh. The 9-12 art students received an outstanding merit for their computer art/video “A Kinder World” and Ashtyn Meis for her painting “Never Forgotten”. Faith Kinney received a red for her “Blue Dog”, and Brynn Dilly received a honorable mention for her “Cat”.

Pope John students also attended  the Niobrara Valley Conference art contest in Stuart.  Receiving outstanding merits were Ashtyn Meis for her painting “Never Forgotten”, PJ 9-12 art students for the “A Kinder World” computer art/video, Madison Dilly for her “Owl” and “Paper Bowl”, Faith Kinney for her “Blue Dog”, and Lexi Bode for her “Egg”.

Receiving blue ribbons were Haley Zegers for her “Leaf Mask”, Taylynne Charf for her “Bunny”, Brynn Dilly for her “Cat”, Jaime Dozler for her “Elephant”, Skyler Meis for her “Hollywood”, Elyse Warnke for “Home” and Lexi Bode for “Miss Dior”, Nevaeh Jockens for “It”.. Receiving   red ribbons were Marissa Preister for “Love” Maddie Schrage for “Flowers”, Emily Mlnarik for “Matisse Study”, Skyler Meis for “Bunny”, Kirsten Krebs “Panda”, Emma Ruterbories “Giraffe”, Elyse Warnke for “Star Wars”, Matthew Dilly “Hand”, and Emily Mlnarik for “Scooters”. Receiving  green  ribbons were Kirsten Krebs “Moose”, Brianna Hupp for “Spaceman”. Receiving yellow ribbons were Nevaeh Jockens for “Rabbit”, Sharon Bartak for “Dolphin”, Onesa Gil-Rodrigues for “Hand”, Jaime Dozler for “Tree”.

The students are directed by art teacher, Connie Henn.
