What year did you start teaching at Pope John? 2007

What subjects do you teach? English

What is one of your hidden talents or something people don’t know about you? I am actually a queen! Well, the Loup Valley Dairy Princess in 1984, which is basically the same thing.

How do you spend your summer breaks? My time during the summer is divided into being a farm wife, a pre-millenial mom, a dutiful daughter, a pooper scooper, a mid-century modern design collector, as well as a book collector/reader and British TV viewer.

If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be? My dream job would be to work for the USO and travel around the world supporting and encouraging our servicemen and women.

What is your favorite dish from the cafeteria? My favorite meal is chili, pull apart bread, and cookie with M&Ms on top.

What’s the best thing about being a Catholic School teacher? The students!  I also enjoy teaching in a Catholic school because we can discuss how our Christian faith relates to the literature or subject we are studying.

If you could take the students on a field trip to anywhere in the world, where would you take them? I would like to take the students to tour various sights around England significant to English literature and history, such as Canterbury, London’s Globe Theater, Windsor Castle, Dover, Stratford-upon-Avon, Hampshire, West Yorkshire, Oxford, Cambridge, the Lake District, and then conclude the tour with a visit to see the Mach Loop in west-central Wales.
