What are great season of range judging FFA kids! All of you kept learning and improving scores every week! At the District X North Contest on Wednesday, Elgin had the *Champion Jr. Team* – Baylee B., Nick A., Callie H. and Sam H. Baylee was 3rd overall, Nick was 4th, Sam was 5th and Callie was 12th. There were 240 contestants and 49 teams. Way to go! Other members that scored high in the Jr. division were Kate F., Myles K., Natalie B., and Keyera E. They were also the 5th place team In the Sr. Division Paiton H., Cale K., Ethan H., and Carter B. were the 4th overall team out of 23. Paiton was 12th, Ethan was 15th, Cale was 19th and Carter was 21st. Next week is the Nebraska State Range Judging contest in Cherry County. Based on total scores from our three contests, Baylee, Nick, Callie, and Sam will be representing Elgin in the Jr. Division. Paiton, Cale, Ethan and Austin G. will be representing in the Sr. Division! Congratulations! The following FFA Kids will be competing in the state FFA range judging contest next week in Cherry Co. We will leave after 4th period on Tuesday and return by 4:00 p.m. or sooner on Wednesday. Paiton H., Cale K., Samuel H.
October calendar items are due in the office next Monday by noon.
There will be a Fall Quest Weekend on November 20-21, 2021 at Tintern Retreat Center. Due to COVID preventing us from holding a Quest for the last 2 years, this Quest is open t*o all high school students.* In order to reserve a spot, interested youth must complete and return *all 4 forms, which can be found in the front office*, along with the registration fee of $45 to the address shown on the application. If there are any adults who are interested and willing to *chaperone the boys or girls dorm rooms overnight, please contact any member of the core team.* We are also in need of volunteers (Safe Environment trained) for either Friday or Saturday night.
