New National Honor Society Members inducted to Pope John XXIII Chapter

At a special National Honor Society Induction Ceremony held during school mass on Tuesday, December 11th, six new members were welcomed into the Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School Chapter in Elgin.  New members include sophomores Marissa Preister, daughter of Scott and Kay Preister of Petersburg; Allyson Selting, daughter of Lynn and Amy Selting of Elgin, juniors Breanna Bartak, daughter of Gary and Mary Bartak of Ewing; Brynn Dilly, daughter of Doug and Shawn Dilly of Neligh; Luke Henn, son of Denis and Jan Henn of Elgin; Kayce Kallhoff, daughter of Brent and Susan Kallhoff of Elgin.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. To be considered for membership students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
