The symbol of Joseph, a multicolored coat, is placed on the Jesse tree today.  Joseph gave food to God’s chosen people when there was a famine.  We remember him by his coat of many colors.

Elgin High Post Prom is having a soup supper during the ball games Saturday, December 15th.

The symbol of a rose is added to the Jesse tree today.  It is a sign of Isaiah’s prophecy “…that a desert shall bloom as the rose at the coming of the Lord.”

Our NHS Induction and Mass will be celebrated at 11:50 this morning in the St. Boniface Church.  Congratulations to our new members:  Breanna B., Brynn D., Luke H., Kayce K., Marissa P. & Allyson S.

Congratulations to our JH basketball teams on their wins over Niobrara-Verdigre yesterday.

Good Luck to our JV girls (4 qtrs.) and varsity basketball teams as we host Elkhorn Valley beginning at 4:45 this afternoon in the St. Boniface Gym. Francis House will clean up after the games.  Games will be on Striv TV today.

If anyone has corn hole games for the last day before Christmas break please bring them to the office.

Congratulations to our JV and varsity girls basketball teams on their wins over Plainview on Friday and the varsity girls on their win over Riverside on Saturday.

Today we add a picture of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the Jesse Tree.  This symbol reminds us of the Virgin Mary who was chosen to be the mother of God.  Because she said “Yes” to God’s plan, she became the Mother of our Savior, Jesus.

All School Pope John Alumni Memorial Mass will be this morning at 8:15 in the St. Boniface Church.

Congratulations to our JH girls basketball team on their win over Neligh-Oakdale yesterday.

Good Luck to our basketball teams as we travel to Plainview.  Players and managers are dismissed at 2:45 p.m.  JV girls will play 4 quarters at 4:30 p.m. followed by varsity games.  Good Luck also as they travel to play Riverside @ Spalding tomorrow.  The bus will leave at 2:10 p.m.  and no JV game will be played.

Senior breakfast is this Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until noon in the St. Boniface Gym.  Please come and support our senior class.
