The Crusader speech team traveled to Riverside yesterday. Coming home with places in the “Honors” finals are: Reese S. 4th in serious prose, Olivia K. 5th in informative, Aiden K. and Brooke K. 5th in duet. Receiving superior ratings were: Tessa B. in serious prose, Christian P. in humorous prose, Kinley D. in entertainment, Jovie B. in both POI and persuasive, Harlie T. in poetry, and Olivia K. and Juliana M. in duet. Pope John will be hosting their district competition on March 20th.

The Pope John Speech Team headed to Wheeler Central to compete in the NVC tournament. The Crusaders placed 5th in team sweepstakes, bringing home several medals. Congratulations to all. Olivia K. is the conference champion in informative speaking! Aiden K. and Brooke K. earned the second-place medal with their duet. Coming home with fourth place in program of oral interpretation (POI) was Jovie B. Jovie also brought home fourth place in persuasive speaking. The oral interpretation of drama (OID) group of Aiden K., Camry K., Tessa B., Brooke K., and Matthew K. placed fourth. Tessa B. placed fifth in oral interpretation of serious prose. Finally, the duet of Olivia K. and Juliana M. came in sixth. Earning superior ratings were Kinley D. in entertainment speaking, Harlie T. in oral interpretation of poetry, Christian P. in oral interpretation of humorous prose, and Reese S. in oral interpretation of serious prose.
