Great state FFA convention! Highlights include:**State Champions and National Qualifiers: Carter B.- Swine Proficiency, Kaidynce S. & Brystol B.: Agriscience Fair, Food Science Div., Chloe H. & Sam D. – Agriscience Fair, Plant Science Div., *State Runner-Ups: Michael S. and Justice B. – Agriscience Fair, Natural Res. Div., Samuel H.- Diversified Ag Proficiency. *3rd Place – Molly & Makenna/Braelyn & Kylee – Agriscience Fair, Food Science Divisions. The Elgin Chapter was also 7th in the state for the “I Believe in the Future of Ag” campaign. *CDE Highlights:* Agriscience Team: 16th out of 144 Teams. All the girls earned a blue ribbon. Floriculture Team: 12th out of 58 Teams. Baylee & Sara earned blue ribbons and Callie and Kate white. Livestock Evaluation: Haley P. was 22nd overall out of 231 Individuals. Livestock Management: 24th out of 58 teams. In the swine division they were 7th overall, in the horse division they were 9th overall and 8th overall in the sheep division. Eleven senior members also walked across the stage to earn their State FFA Degree!

The winner of the Food Pantry cross design contest is *Gonzaga, PK & 5th.* They will receive homemade treats next week for their creativity! The total # of items collected for the food pantry is 380. This is short of our 1000 item goal, so there will be no all-school dress down days in April. Let’s plan to shoot for 1000 next year! Here is how much each group collected: Francis, Kindergarten & 6th gr: 84 items Gonzaga, Pk & 5th gr: 88 items Isidore, 2nd & 4th Gr: 120 items Joshua, 1st & 3rd Gr: 88 items As a consolation prize, the group that collected the most items will be awarded *one *dress down day. *Isidore, 2nd & 4th grade* – your dress down day will be Mon, April 8.
