Congratulations to more FFA students qualifying for state in various events this week already! *Agriscience Fair*: In the Social Science Division: Kayton and Kydnal, In the Animal Science Division: Jarek and Trey, in the Food Processing System: Keyera, and also in the Social Science Division: Sharon. In Natural Resources: Dylon L., Myles, Blake and Steven will represent Elgin FFA at State. In Agronomy: Collin, Gage, Austin G. and Kellan will represent Elgin FFA at State. Selected for Courtesy Corp were: Chloe, Natalie B., Austin H., and Landon. The Elgin FFA Chapter also placed 3rd overall in the state for the “I Believe in the Future of Ag” campaign. Through raising funds (thanks supporters!) and completing tasks on the FFA Foundation’s app., the chapter earned 3rd! Ten members will be attending a special forum/supper during the state convention and then be recognized on stage during the Thursday evening session. Great job FFA members!

On Friday, February 25th the team found much success at the Lutheran High Northeast Screaming Eagle Speech Invitational. The Crusaders were runner-up in team sweepstakes, taking 10 entries to finals. Earning medals were as follows: Emma Lea R. was poetry champion! Jack B. earned 2nd in humorous prose, and 4th in duet acting with his partner in crime, Matthew D. Eliza B. placed 4th in her debut of persuasive speaking and Skyler M. brought home 4th in entertainment. Linus B. had a trend of 3’s…3rd in serious prose, extemporaneous speaking and OID with his group members Cale K., Brooklyn M., and Emma M. Also earning medals in OID were 5th place group Kaylee R., Emma Lea R., Ellie R., Skyler M., and Taylynne C., and 6th place group Olivia K., Kaitey S., Eliza B., Juliana M., and Natalie B.
